NextGen Payments & RegTech Forum Switzerland 2026

On 5 March 2026, Koen Vanderhoydonk attended the 24th NextGen Payments & RegTech Forum at the Marriott Hotel in Zurich. Organised by QUBE Events, the forum brought together banks, fintechs, PSPs and regulatory stakeholders for a day centred on practical discussion, market direction and meaningful networking.

This year’s Zurich edition focused on the themes currently shaping the industry most directly: real-time payments, A2A flows, embedded finance, AI-powered risk controls, instant payments, Open Finance, AI in compliance, stablecoins and CBDCs, fraud and AML, and data privacy. The event was framed around turning innovation into execution, with a strong emphasis on practical takeaways rather than theory alone.

For The Connector, this was a valuable moment to reconnect with familiar faces and to meet new people across the payments and RegTech landscape. The real value of events like this is not only in the agenda, but in the quality of the conversations around it. Zurich once again proved to be a strong meeting point for professionals working on the future of payments, compliance and financial innovation. The forum itself was positioned by QUBE as a place for “meaningful networking” and a curated community of decision-makers, which clearly came through in the discussions on site.

We are also proud that Koen Vanderhoydonk, Founder & CEO of The Connector, took on a co-chairman role at this year’s event. QUBE Events highlighted his participation in that role ahead of the forum, underlining the close connection between The Connector and the wider payments and fintech ecosystem.

A sincere thank you to QUBE Events for the organisation, to the speakers and contributors for sharing their expertise, and to everyone we had the pleasure of meeting in Zurich. These are the kinds of gatherings where ideas are sharpened, relationships are built, and new opportunities begin.

We look back on this edition with appreciation and with a number of valuable new connections that we are pleased to continue beyond the event itself.
